Hi everyone! I’m back after another bout of inconsistency, and unfortunately, this may continue over the next couple of weeks as I’m going through a few transitions at the moment and trying to learn as much as I can about content creation so that I can amp up my blogs and my YouTube channel (which you should totally subscribe to, I’d be forever grateful 🙂 ).

For today’s post, I wanted to put you guys on to some new information I’ve received. I haven’t always been the best at taking care of my skin, and now that I’m going through this transition, I decided I wanted to start taking more time for self-care, including taking care of my skin! I noticed some lines on my forehead and I damn-near passed out. After this, I decided I NEEDED to take better care of my skin because I am too young for wrinkles, but I know my neglect is the culprit.

I have a VERY oily area in the center of my face (t-zone and inner cheeks), but the rest of my face is dry. I have always feared using moisturizer because I, like many others, thought, “my skin is too oily, it’ll just make things worse”. If you thought the same way, we were both wrong! As a matter of fact, not moisturizing can be the cause of oily skin as your skin works overtime to hydrate and creates MORE oil to compensate for the lack of moisture. Learning this made me think, “but how the heck do I use all these cleansers, toners, serums, oils, milks, creams, etc., etc.” My head was spinning! If you’re like me, then I have good news for you, I am going to tell you what order these items are used in!

So one quick tip off hand to remember is: wash, tone, and use lightest to thickest products. Here’s a simple breakdown:

  1. Makeup remover
  2. Cleanser
  3. Toner
  4. Mask (if desired)
  5. Serum
  6. Eye cream
  7. Moisturizer (face milk can be used before this or mixed in, from what I’ve read…I could be wrong lol)
  8. Oil

In an effort to learn more about skin care and put it into practice, I realized how damn expensive products can be!!!! But I heard about Fourth Ray Beauty, Colourpop’s sister brand. Colourpop is VERY inexpensive and has awesome quality makeup so I figured this brand would be worth a try. I picked up their AM to the PM Cleanser, Keep Clear Clarifying Toner, The Lightweight Hydrator, and the Watermelon Seed Oil, which is supposed to help regulate sebum production. I wanted to purchase their Remedy Serum, but it sold out while I had it in my cart 😦 Here are the items I used, in order, and their prices:

Anyways, my thoughts on this line so far are, I love it. I didn’t really notice too much of a fragrance, if any at all. I know some people dislike products that have a lot of fragrance, but I’m not one of those people lol. For me this was the only downside because I loooooove using face products that smell good and leave behind a lasting scent. I wore the oil today underneath my makeup (which I never would’ve gambled with in the past) and I’m actually less oily than I usually am and my texture improved! (See photo below)

This is my skin as of 1 PM today. Normally, my skin would be full of oil! (Don’t mind my lids, the foundation didn’t hold up very well there. That’s not a reflection of Fourth Ray Beauty as I didn’t use any moisturizers or oils there.)

The site is very user friendly and it has so much information. I was able to figure out which oils and serums were best for my skin type through reading about their products and I definitely plan to order much more! I will also be filming a video on this as a part 2 very soon so stay tuned! 🙂

As always, thank you guys so much for your support. Please don’t forget to like, share, comment, and subscribe! Head to my YouTube channel as well: https://www.youtube.com/user/TracyVende

Lastly, let me know your thoughts on the product! Did you try it? Love it? Hate it? Tell me allllll the tea!! 🙂
