HAPPY SKIN CO AT HOME IPL: MY EXPERIENCE & REVIEW – PART II (WITH PICS)

As promised (not that anyone cares haha), I’m back with my honest review of the Happy Skin Co. IPL System. So the device took a while to ship to me. Considering it came from Australia (and I’m in USA), this was to be expected. I also ordered during the holidays, so they sent me an email the day after I ordered saying they were behind on orders due to an influx of orders. I ordered the device on 12/16/18 and received it on 1/7/2019, so about 3 weeks. I’ll admit, I was so skeptical about this device from the jump. I’ve never truly believed any at home laser hair removal device would deliver results. I’ll be the guinea pig for anyone who feels the way I do, cause I wanna be hair free!

So today is 1/22/2019. I did the lower half of my legs for the first time on 1/19/2019 after shaving like the instructions said. The following day, 1/20/2019, I did my Brazilian area, mustache, feet/toes, and armpits for the first time. After 3 days since doing my legs, I noticed the hair is growing back slower and in some areas, not at all. After 2 days of doing all other areas, my armpit hair has not grown in at all, my Brazilian is extremely sparse, feet/toes still have no hair, and mustache still has no signs of hair. Overall, my first session did yield results. Not earth shattering, but I was realistic enough going into this not to think that regardless. Also, having done professional laser hair removal in the past, I knew not to expect anything to be hair free after the first session.

What I didn’t see anyone mention in reviews was the pain. They all said it was “pain-free”. It is not pain-free, but it is not painful either. I had my device set to the highest intensity (level 5), and there were areas where I flinched, I’ll admit, but I wouldn’t say it really hurt. The most accurate way to describe the sensation would be like a rubberband being pulled back and hitting your skin with a warm sensation surrounding the site where it hit. I used it on my fiance’s chest as well and he said it didn’t hurt. Just to give you all a gauge of my threshold for pain, I gave birth natural. If you don’t have a high pain threshold, don’t use me to predict your tolerance for the pain lol. I really don’t think most people would describe it as painful, though.

That’s all for this week! I’ll give you all an update next week. See photos below for my personal progress 🙂

Here is a photo of my leg 1 week+ of no shaving.

So far, it’s been great. I didn’t get to finish my treatment because things have been hectic and still I have little to no hair in all areas 🙂

Hello! How did this turn out for you a year later? Do you still use it? Is the product still in good condition?
